Not only does Juice watch a shit ton of Movies on a daily basis. But he also reads. I read Comics, I’m in the middle of just about every issue in the Absolute Story Run in DC comics and re-reading Batman: Knightfall to prep for the Animated Movie Trilogy that is currently being released inside these next few months. But I’m also reading Novels and I want to talk about the ones I just recently finished…
I’m re-reading the Harry Potter book series. Audible has been releasing the “Full Cast Audio Editions” of The Harry Potter Series. And I’m so ADHD that I am also reading along physically while listening to them on Audible.
I finished Book 1 (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone) last year (⭐⭐⭐⭐) and immediately followed it with Book 2 (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) (⭐⭐⭐⭐).
The full length of passion in the Dialogue of not just the Narrative throughout, but the cast as well is absolutely stunning. There were parts in both books that made me realize, yeah they shouldn’t have put everything in the Movies, it makes sense, they’re long books and they would have been way longer Movies. But regardless, it reignited a love for Physical Book Reading and I was inclined to keep going.
And now presently, I have successfully finished Book 3 (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐). This may end up being my Favorite book in the series. It, funnily enough was my Favorite of the Movies growing up, but looking back now as I went through the story, I wondered why? They cut almost all of the best parts of the Book from the Film. There is an entire Chapter dedicated to Remus Lupin’s accounts for the time he and Harry’s Father, along with Black and Wormtail were “strutting about the Castle” as Severus Snape would say, and how the Whomping Willow was purposely planted to help Lupin with his Werewolf problem.
And not for nothing, but where the HELL is the prequel Series called “Hogwarts” that starts with all of the Older Generation going to school and literally following events all the way to the events of Godric’s Hollow where it ends with us seeing Harry Potter receive his Scar? THAT’S the show I want.
We get details that I completely forgot we get in this Book. And I have a feeling that this will just keep being a theme as I continue to re-read this amazing Series.
But we finally get to the actual Present, where I have just this morning, started Book 4 (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and so far… Shit is STILL different from what I remember 😂😂😂😭😭😭. My goal in this re-read endeavor is to “TRY” and them all read by the release of the New Series on HBOMax.
I am so very much looking forward to completing this endeavor and knowing that there are people out there who would follow along with me as I write about my feelings about what I’m reading or watching, makes me quite hopeful that there are good people in the world amist all the chaos.
For all of my Book recommendations, I’m on GoodReads, which is literally the Facebook for Books. And I just started Thingsbook as well.
